​I’ve been in and around education for a long time (I’m now retired) and I’ve done all sorts of things including guitar lessons. In all the subjects I’ve done I’ve seen a few great teachers, a lot of good ones and I’ve had more than my share of bad ones.
I can honestly say that I don’t remember any teacher who was better than Adam.
He’s a Professional. Performer, artist and all about blues. His teaching is outstanding. He has some innovative and unique methods to get me playing better, and for all aspects of the guitar – Playing, practicing, confidence building. Adam has assessed my playing and knows exactly how to get me to improve. I know this because I can see my own improvement week after week. He’s also a good bloke to spend half an hour with every week.

Zoom lessons with Adam were easy to schedule, even across continents, and remarkably free of technical issues.  Of course, Adam has set the bar high; he sees and hears exactly what I play, just fine, across an ocean.  There is lots of laughter during our lesson and Adam always makes sure to answer all my questions before we sign off.  I cannot recommend zoom lessons with Adam more highly.  You can learn a lot on your own; but stretching yourself takes a lesson.

"I had been playing guitar for about 25 years and had reached a certain level and not progressed from that.  Arthritis in my wrists and thumb joints meant that in recent years I had mainly been playing Ukulele. I found Adam's website by accident and it seemed that he had similar music tastes to me and offered skype lessons. Since starting lessons in August 2019, my playing has improved in leaps and bounds. He straight away taught me some ukulele finger picking patterns which totally altered my approach to the instrument. He then got me to change the way I held a guitar when sitting and I can now play the guitar almost pain free. We have been going through various tunings, finger picking and slide, keeping a muted thumb rhythm going, and I now feel as though I can play an instrument. ​Adams lessons are fun and engaging, I’m always looking forward to the lessons.
He often sends me videos with the assignment after the lesson, which is really helpful.
He lets me send videos of my progress and comments on them constructively during the week, which is hugely motivating.
He sincerely tries to teach me the styles I’m interested in, even if they’re not on his usual repertoire.
If I send him recordings of what I like in order to zoom in on what I would like to learn, he listens, comments, and try to present me with easy versions of something similar.
He doesn’t get offended if I'd rather not learn something he suggests. We just keep on looking for something else, together.
He seems genuinely excited when I get something right.
All in all he succeeds in being extremely present in spite of the fact it´s all online and that English is a foreign language to me.
