Ragtime Jazz Blues Online Course-Sunday March 13th
The course will run for 4 weeks starting on Sunday March 13th, through to Sunday April 3rd. Each session starts at 10am and runs for 40 minutes. The courses are open to all levels, although experience of finger picking is very useful. Contact me if you're not sure.
As with all my online lessons and workshops, you'll receive links to examples beforehand, a video of everything covered will be sent out each week for future reference, plus weekly individual help is offered.
The main focus this time is an introduction to the ‘hot’ rhythmic style as played by Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller, Big Bill Broonzy etc.
Over the four week course we'll be covering; Blind Boy Fuller's 'Jitterbug Rag', Big Bill Broonzy's 'Saturday Night Rub', Bo Carter's 'Beans' and a Jazz style blues with a ton of easy to remember passing chords!
The cost of the 4 week course is still £50.

Using Zoom video conferencing, these sessions will be technique, rather than 'repertoire' based.
Each course will run for 4 weeks and each session will be 40 minutes. There will be a video of everything covered sent after each session, which you can download and keep for future reference.

While these courses are 'technique' rather than repertoire based, licks and ideas featured have been taken from songs by; Big Bill Broonzy, Scrapper Blackwell, Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Charley McCoy, Tommy McClennan, Charley Jordan, Jim Jackson, Blind Boy Fuller, Bo Carter and Memphis Minnie.
