Blues, Ragtime & Slide Guitar Workshop-West Sussex
The workshop will be from 10am to 4pm, with lunch and tea breaks which will be provided. Taking in classic blues from the 1930's to the 1950's, we will use songs and tunes as a basis for learning essential techniques. I will be covering standard tuning, open tunings and slide guitar.
If you are interested and have a song or technique you would like to learn, please get in contact, time permitting I will try to fit it in to the day.
Cost of the day is £50, including lunch and tea/coffee.
Space is limited to 8 only on a first come first served basis.

Guitar Retreats-Cool Blues & Hot Pickin' weekend
This course is limited to 12 people, only 2 places left, so get in quick using the box below!
Learn essential finger picking techniques from the ‘cool blues’ of players such as Mississippi John Hurt and Memphis Minnie, then on to the exciting ragtime style of players such as, Blind Boy Fuller and Big Bill Broonzy.
Throughout the weekend students will cover basic techniques while learning ‘classic acoustic blues’, ‘ragtime’ and ‘hot jazz’ tunes. From the original Chicago blues of the 1920’s, then down the east coast to find the alternate thumb style known as ‘Piedmont’.
Techniques covered will include; ‘Thumb Rolls’, ‘Moving bass line’, ‘Chord inversions’, ‘Diminished chord runs’, and more.
The main course of the weekend will be standard tuning, although some time will be set aside for open tunings. A diverse range of early American musicians used open tunings without a slide to great effect.
